Gridchangeagent.com provides online coverage of the technologies, trends, strategies and policies disrupting electricity supply chains around the world. Industries and markets include distributed renewable generation, energy storage, smart grids, utility, commercial/industrial, residential and off grid.

When its owner Sara Verbruggen came to me, all she had was a concept and some stories that were good to go. No website, no branding (no name for the brand or logo), nada. She did have an idea of how she wanted the site to look and the colours she liked – and she did know it had to be easy for her to use and upload news articles and photos. Ideally, she also wanted to have advertising on the site and have an email newsletter to go with it all.

Sara is a freelance journalist I worked with when I was the Commissioning Editor of the market reports produced for Haymarket’s Windpower Intelligence division. So I was more than happy to help.

The first step was to develop her idea better and come up with a solid brand concept. We bounced ideas back and forth, developed the focus of the site and a content strategy. The name Sara opted for was Gridchangeagent.com. I secured the domain name, provided the hosting for the site, and got to work on developing and designing a logo and a fully mobile responsive, user-friendly, wordpress website with the look and feel Sara wanted for her brand.
